This month's Bright Spot Award Winner
Keep Carbondale Beautiful is proud to honor Hector Campos as this month’s Bright Spot Award recipient for his dedication to transforming and maintaining a once-neglected property into a welcoming and vibrant home located at 422 E. Willow St.
Inspired by his wife, Guadalupe, Hector began revitalizing their property eight years ago. What was once a house with “only windows, siding, and doors” is now a warm and inviting space that reflects care and community pride. He added green bushes, roses, and stone pillars to create a cozy front porch – turning a simple entrance into a family-friendly gathering space.
Hector takes pride in maintaining his yard year-round, ensuring that flowers bloom in every season. His motivation is simple yet powerful: “I like for it to look good.”
When asked why community beautification matters, Hector shared, “It looks better – and keeping things clean makes everything better for everyone.”
Upon learning he was selected for the Bright Spot Award, Hector said he felt very happy and plans to “keep going and doing the same things in the future.”
Keep Carbondale Beautiful thanks Hector and his family for their continued efforts to make Carbondale a more welcoming and beautiful place for all.
