Read for the Environment
Presentations are given to 1st-3rd grade classrooms within Carbondale’s school districts, during the school day. Volunteers read an environmental children’s story, engage students in discussion, and distribute take-home materials for children (coloring books, pencils, crayons, etc). In 2013, Read for the Environment will overlap with the 11 Days for Food Justice (Feb 21-Mar 2), with new books about food and the environment.
